Sea Change Connect aims to strengthen the Sea Change network, sustain alumni relationships and integrate new voices.
Sharing actionable insights and addressing industry challenges with practical solutions.
We will amplify women’s voices, platform diverse role models, from emerging talent to leaders such as Catharine Des Forges and Jeanie Finlay and connect with international festivals, like the wonderful Tricky Women in Vienna and St John’s International Women’s Festival, in Newfoundland, Canada.
The Sea Change Connect programme will offer a warm welcome, meeting you wherever you might be, celebrating women behind the camera by offering year-round support and a warm welcome beaming out from the Isle of Tiree and beyond!

Catharine is Director of the Independent Cinema Office. She founded it in 2003 and continues to lead on the overall strategy and development of the company. Prior to founding the ICO, she worked at the BBC, the BFI, Arts Council England, and worked as a freelance film programmer both in the UK and internationally. She sits on the Steering Group for London’s Screen Archives, is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a voting member of BAFTA, on the board of CICAE and co- chair of LUX – Artists Moving Image.

Gráinne Humphreys is Executive Director of the Dublin International Film Festival. She started her career working with young audiences with the Junior Dublin Film Festival in 1994 and she has worked in film programming for over twenty years. She was director of both the Stranger Than Fiction Documentary Festival and the Dublin French Film Festival from 2002- 2007. She is a regular contributor on a range of cinema and culture related subjects to a number of radio shows on RTE and other media outlets and leads a course called Cinema Creatives which is part of the Creative Futures Academy in UCD. She also lectures on film exhibition in Griffith College.

Sea Change is a space to come together, share ideas and imagine new possibilities. Change begins with conversation and this session invites us to reflect on our experiences of working in the industry – what energises us, what challenges us, and what we would like to see evolve.
Through individual reflection, paired discussions, and collective conversation, we’ll explore our hopes for the future and identify opportunities for meaningful change.
Whether you have a clear vision or are simply curious to hear different perspectives, join us to take a moment to think creatively and collaboratively about what comes next and catch up with some old Sea Change friends.
What If We Could Be Heroes?

What makes a good ally, and how can we better support one another in our work? Sea Change is about connection, conversation and collective learning, this one-hour online session invites us to reflect on the people who have supported us, the moments when we have supported others, and the kinds of support we might all need right now.
We’ll share our experiences in pairs and as a group, explore what effective allyship looks like in practice, and identify ways we can strengthen our networks and communities.

What if Craftivism Could Make Change for The Better?

Join us online for an hour of creativity, conversation and collective reflection as we use the act of making to explore ideas, share experiences and imagine positive change.
During this relaxed session, you’ll work on a craft project of your choice using materials you already have at home. As we create, we’ll discuss the issues, values and causes that matter to us, and explore how creativity can help spark dialogue, build community and communicate powerful messages.
No previous craftivism experience is needed, and there’s no pressure to make anything specific. Simply bring along your preferred craft materials – whether that’s knitting, crochet, embroidery, drawing, collage or another creative practice – and join us for an inspiring hour of making and conversation.
