CPD sessions: Using Film in the Classroom
Screen Argyll are delighted to offer an online series of free CPD sessions on using film to support using film in the classroom. The sessions are designed for both primary and secondary teachers who are interested in working with film in an educational setting.
The course follows a progressive framework, and will be shaped around your interests and needs.
Example sessions:
- Intro to Stop Motion
- Music for Film
- Film Fundamentals
- Screen Industries & Career Pathways
- Emotional Literacy
- Supporting the Curriculum with Film
We’ll be looking at how film works from its simplest forms, through to the world of sound and stop motion animation, identifying ways to develop emotional literacy, how it can support you in the delivery of your curriculum and identify pathways into the world of film for your students.
Screen Scotland aims to embed a film and screen curriculum across Scottish Education from early years to senior phase, situated within the Expressive Arts curriculum. Screen Argyll plays a key role in delivering this vision in Argyll, with a focus on reaching underrepresented communities, particularly in Scotland’s islands and remote areas. Our curricular support CPD sessions are part of this approach, bringing key threads from the other strands of our work together to give you a unique CPD offer, supported by Screen Scotland.
